The barge carried 40 tons of bunker coal, a steam boiler weighing 60 tons, pumping plant consisting of a compound vertical steam engine, condenser, three centrifugal pumps and three steam winches weighing nearly 50 tons, and counterbalanced by water ballast on the opposite side of the barge to extent of 40 tons.
