BEIRA. 25/3 1959: Had fire in hold 4 when in Indian Ocean, when on voyage Aden-Singapore with general cargo. Managed to sail to Colombo, where the fire was extinguised. 22/10 1968: Sustained heavy damage when she was in collision with ABBEKERK (Dutch general cargo ship) off the Hook of Holland, while bound from Rotterdam to Bremen. One member of her crew was killed. 1975: Sold to Henry Stephens Shipping Co. Ltd., Lagos, Nigeria and renamed IFEWARA. 1982: Sold to Pakistan to be broken up at Gadani Beach |
