REPUBLIQUE Republique-class (REPUBLIQUE & PATRIE) Laid down in December 1901 at Brest. Completed 1905. Stricken and broken up in France 1921 Length: 439' Beam: 79'7" Draft: 27'6". Displacement: 14,600 tons. Armament: (4) 12", (18) 6.4" (12x2, 6x1) Krupps Cemented (KC)armor: 11" belt, 12'6" width (7'6" above waterline); 14" turret. 2.75" deck. Double armored deck/splinter deck with cellular layer between. Propulsion: Inverted vertical triple expansion steam engines, shafted to twin screw. Maximum speed: 19 kts. Crew: 770. |
