The Gromoboi (Громобой) (Thunderer) was an armoured cruiser built for the Imperial Russian Navy. She fought in the Russo-Japanese war 1904 being heavily damaged at the Battle of Ulsan by Japanese cruisers, later repaired. Damaged by mines on 23rd May 1905 off Vladivostok she was again repaired, transferred to the Baltic Fleet and served in WW1.  The design was an improved version of the armoured cruiser Rossia with extra protection.
