U.S.S. SEAWOLF

The worlds second nuclear-powered submarine, is shown sliding into the Thames River from her building ways at the Electric Boat Division of General Dynamics Corp., Groton, Conn. The Seawolf, similar in many respects to the world's first atomic submarine, U.S.S. NATILUS, launched July 21 1955. These and may other submarines of our Navy may been seen operating in the Thames River from the adjoining "twin cities" of New London and Groton.

USS 246 CROAKER (Gato-class)
During her first six war patrols, CROAKER sank a cruiser, four tankers, two freighters, two escort craft, a minesweeper and a ammunition ship.
