NORTHIOD. 1964: Sold to Edaterini Cia. Mar., Panama. Renamed SOFIA P. 5/1 1970: Broke in two and forepart sank at pos. 151.23 E, 32.07 N (SE Tokyo) in heavy weather when on a voyage Baytown - Singapore. 6/1 1970: English bulk carrier FERNIE sighted the afterpart and saved the crew except for 7 men which drowned with the forepart. Efforts was made to tow the afterpart to safe harbor but she sunk at pos. 153.15 E, 31.05 N at 12/1 1970. |
