1960: Keel laid. 5/10 1961: Named SVEA JARL. 16/10 1961: Launched. 24/3 1962 - 25/3 1963: Trials. 12/4 1962: Delivered to Rederi AB Svea, Stockholm as SVEA JARL. 21/4 1962: In traffic for Silja Line between Stockholm - Helsinki/Åbo. 27/2 1973: Grounded at Söderarm in the entrance to Stockholms archipelag. Passenger evacuated to the ferry FENNIA. 8/3 1973: Refloated and towed in to Stockholm for unloading the cars then to Finnboda varv for repair. Febr.1976: Laid up. 15/3 1976: Sold to Rederi AB Slite, Slite, Sweden and renamed APOLLO III. April 1976: In traffic between Stockholm - Mariehamn. Dec.1976 - 10/3 1977: Laid up. 11/3 1977: In traffic Stockholm - Mariehamn. 2/10 1981: Collided with the Finnish ship ISGARD near Oxdjupet. 20/12 1981 -26/4 1982: At Jokkipaja varv, Åbo, Finland to change her steamengines to Dieselengines. 17/1 1983 - 28/2 1983: Laid up in Stockholm as a Hotel ship. 19/6 1988 - 4/7 1988: Laid up as a hotelship in Luleå. March 1989: Sold to Siam Cruise Co Ltd, Bangkok, Thailand. Renamed ANDAMAN PRINCESS. May 1989: In Cruise traffic between Bangkok - Singapore - Samoa. 4/3 2001: In Koh Phi Phi she developed a heavy list and was abandoned of passengers and crew. Later was she refloated and towed to Phuket. Aug. 2005: Laid up in Bangkok 19/6 2006: Sold to Advent Systems Ltd, British Virgin Island (Sierra Leone flag). Renamed PRINCE. |
