17/4 1917: Shelled and damaged by the German submarine UC-51 whilst on passage from Gothenburg to Hull with a cargo of iron and wood, plus six tons of mail.
18/4 1917: Torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine U-86 in the North Sea. The Master, Carl Albert Norman, and 15 crew were lost. The only survivor was the Chief Steward, who was landed at Heligoland by the submarine.
